Cleared for Take-off Concert Series.

Working with local venues, artists, event workers, and vendors, S&S Seattle hosted the first in-person events following quarantine closures in 2021 at the Museum of Flight in Tukwila, WA. Using COVID-compliant, data-driven procedures, S&S Seattle endeavored to revitalize the arts, keep venues open, and give locals what they’ve lost during the pandemic: the ability to go to a live show and hear musicians play the music they love.

These were 2021 pandemic-era shows with masked, socially-distanced, 21+ seating pods.

β€œCleared for Takeoff, the project of Safe & Sound Seattle β€” a new, music-oriented organization created specifically to host COVID-safe shows β€” was the first large-scale in-person concert since Cytrus's July attempt to make drive-in concerts feasible (this dream was squashed a mere five days later when new state restrictions came down) and the first concert since March where audience members were, well, actually a part of the same audience. Held on the pavilion at the Museum of Flight, the sold-out show brought together 200 starved music fans to see Payge Turner and The Black Tones perform.”
