I love seeing underrated blogging & vlogging styles come back. I was a Tumblr girl back before G-Eazy made songs about us 🖤
This transparent, authentic, personal style of dialogue is returning to the internet and it warms my heart to see it happen. It’s been rough out here on the web for a while and while you and I know we should go out and touch grass — it’s cold outside!
Having a Monday off feels great. I have a lot of learning added to my daily schedule & part of my motivation for clearing out clutter and stuck energy is to welcome these additions I’ve been promising myself.
For the last 5 days, I could barely look at a screen without my eyes watering enough to make it pointless & I kept falling asleep 5 minutes into any video or show or movie that I watched so really all I did was sleep. And drink a lot of fluids. I might have slept a full 24.
Anyway, the waking moments in between were full of meditation. Talking hurt too. I went more than 1 year without getting that sick & it came for me during the Leo Full Moon 🌕😭, of course.
I’m thinking about tracking & making a mini-series about automating my role & what that process looks like as a remote Executive Assistant. Is that something y’all would be interested in? Let me know.
Still getting in the practice of recording myself for these. When I’ve filmed in the past, it’s always been a production of something so I’m really enjoying the learning challenges that have come along with this whole “online presence” thing.
Stepping back into my academia bag and researching topics I care about is some food for the soul, if you haven’t tried that. I knew my degree would not be used to find a job so I’ve always believed the subject matter should always be something you’re passionate about learning. I’ve loved psychology since high school and personally, I’m interested in taking a left turn in graduate school (oops, did I share that too soon?) by doing something different.
The biggest lesson I’ve been learning this winter is that ruthlessly cutting away is better than continuously adding. I’ve planted my seeds to be transplanted in the Spring, have you?
xo,
Jade
If you’re not dedicated to watching the whole video, I basically make the following points:
Stop the hyper-individualization.
It’s a skill issue.
Please eliminate more than you consume.
